The Berlin-based netlabel Crazy Language released their 5th compilation. I chose for the occasion the unreleased track Candylicker.

« Once again, time for a little sit at the table Christmas family reunion, to exchange gifts and make a little balance of last year’s difficulttimes. ” Ce n’est pas un hasard si on a rencontré Samuel, alias Syl Kougaï ce printemps au concert parisien d’Autechre : le Montpeliérain a vu le duo anglais plusieurs fois sur scène, et il nous a décrypté les arcanes d’un live electronica, leur travail de haute précision sur les fréquences, et on a trouvé ce mec franchement sympathique… et calé dans son domaine.
Cet ingénieur du son s’y connait en effet, et le prouve encore avec ce EP d’electro avant-gardiste qui mériterait de figurer au catalogue du label Warp : textures huper travaillées, rythmes en fractales, ambiances sombres, basses craquelantes ou aquatiques, on sent qu’il a aussi écouté Aphex Twin et Boards of Canada.
En chirurgien du son qu’il est, Syl Kougaï enfile sa blouse blanche pour martyriser les machines, les faire crisser… et créer un univers personnel ou le son crépite comme un microprocesseur qui surchauffe, fatigué de trop d’informations. Le swing du futur, à n’en pas douter. ”

For its new edition, the EP Green live tracks gets a new cover and a bonus track : 1001mvts. It is a live soundboard record version of the track MightyMovements from the album La fille verte.

« Ce Green Live Tracks est un EP Live enregistré aux Quartiers Libres de Montpellier en 2006 : trois titres, trois claques, on en redemande. Le blog de l’artiste annonce la sortie de l’album La fille verte par le biais de ce mini évènement, on se lèche les babines. On plonge directement dans l’ambiance du concert grâce à un public actif, qui fait « Waouh », qui siffle, qui s’exclame et qui lui aussi en redemande. De grosses distorsions annoncent La voix de l’empereur, qui a tout pour plaire : des basses sourdes, une mélodie entêtante et des éléments synthétiques qui se mêlent à des sonorités orientales. On croit entendre une guitare, des hurlements de loups : la variété des sons surprend elle aussi. Il y a là quelque chose d’Amon Tobin dans ce premier titre magistral, on pense également à Prince of Persia, à quelques BO de Films (celle de Lord Of War entre autres)… »

Meta (from Greek: μετά) = It expresses, at the same time, reflection, change and succession, the act of going beyond, beside, between or with.
Swing = This term is used to describe the sense of propulsive rhythmic “feel” or “groove”, especially when the music creates a visceral response such as feet-tapping or head-nodding.

How to get the album?
This album is exclusively distributed in digital version, on my website. More than a self-production, it is an anti-production by commitment against all the music business that has, over the years, stripped the work of artists of all substance for the sake of its own profit. Not only are the artists exploited – often excluded, but above all, the world is deprived of art. Creators work to bring sincerity, make sense and attempt to reach sublime. They deserve, by eliminating the middlemen, to be reconnected directly to their audience.

Free Music?
I have chosen to put all the Metaswing tracks in full length listening and to distribute the album under a Creative Commons licence, which favours the circulation of works in a simple way. Once you have downloaded it, I encourage you to share it with your friends.

The Berlin-based netlabel Crazy Language released their 4th compilation. I chose for the occasion an unreleased track named Kaansuingaï !

« It’s Christmas ! Capitalist’s favourite season ! And as usual, Crazy-Language delivers what best the World Wide Web has to offer in terms of grade-A Electronic music. A nice recap of what was released throughout 2009, and perhaps a little taste of what’s to come in CL, cycles through 24 songs and countless BPMs. You’re visited by old collaborators, showing off their evolution and newcomers alike, proving that electronic music is spawning everywhere, with fresh ideas out of the box. Complex, sometimes crazy, others chilled, nostalgic and peaceful.
Doesn’t matter. It’s all unpretentious first-class music. Best of all, it’s nice to have this really for free without asking
anything in return, in this hypocrite season of the year. All frickin’ hail the non-capitalist artists behind this !
